The definition given by al-Qurtubi is as follows: Every sin concerning which a text of the Qur’an or Sunnah, or scholarly consensus, states that it is a major sin or a grave sin, or mentioned a severe punishment for it, or decreed a hadd punishment for it, or denounced it in the strongest terms, is a major sin.

Ustadh AbdulAhad Dayyib
Having grown up in the Uk, Ustadh AbdulAhad Dayyib studied and memorised the Qur'an in the UK. He later went onto to study traditionally in Somalia. He is currently undergoing academic studies in the Islamic University of Madinah. Ustadh AbdulAhad delivers lectures across the UK.
